David Brownell

David Brownell is the kind of man people trust almost immediately. He speaks calmly, listens carefully, and carries a steadiness that makes others feel safe around him. Years spent in the forests of southern Oregon taught him patience, humility, and how small people really are compared to the natural world.

He is not loud or charismatic in an obvious way. His kindness shows up quietly: helping stranded drivers during snowstorms, fixing a neighbor’s fence without mentioning it, remembering how people take their coffee, checking in on elderly residents after wildfire evacuations. He notices things most people overlook.

David works for a regional forestry department focused on wildfire prevention, conservation, watershed protection, and forest restoration. Younger employees admire him because he treats everyone with patience and respect regardless of experience.

Outside work, he volunteers teaching outdoor safety programs and occasionally helps teenagers who are struggling find seasonal conservation work. He sees a lot of himself in lost young people.
